1967 The Thrift Center
This is a view of The Thrift Center and a portion of South Lee
Street, looking south, in 1967. (I remember, before this Thrift
Center was located there, in its place was a Roses 5 & 10 Store and
across the street was a Woods 5 & 10 Store. Memories of going
into one of these stores for pea shooters or popcorn is still vivid.
And down the street below the Center above, was the City Market,
run by the Comers and Williams families.)
